At Wesley UMC, prayer is a way of life. Our email prayer chain is available for prayer requests 24/7. When requests are received, they are sent only to our prayer chain members and they remain confidential. We welcome your joys, your concerns, your praises and your thanks. To receive prayer for a specific request, please email Rosalie Addison. You may also send an email to her to be added to the list of those willing to pray for others.
We also have a PRAYER TEAM on Facebook. If you would like to be a member of the Facebook prayer team, please email Rosalie and ask to join this confidential group. If you have a prayer request for the team, please email Rosalie.
Prayers can also be shared using our MAKING CONNECTIONS cards on Sunday mornings. The requests on these cards are shared with our Prayer Chain and in church staff meetings so that many people will be praying confidentially for those needs in the coming week.
This is our prayer for you:
May the Lord bless and keep you.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. ~NUMBERS 6:24-26
In the main hall just outside the sanctuary is our prayer wall. It allows you to submit a prayer request or a special praise, and view requests from others that have been posted. There are also prayer/praise cards in the pew pockets in the sanctuary.
In the center of the wall, there are pre-printed prayer cards to take home with those requests submitted each week on the Making Connections* cards. Prayers and praises will remain on the wall throughout the current month. *Prayer requests that are submitted on the Making Connections cards that are marked “private” will not be posted.
You may add your prayer request or praise reports to our prayer wall using the cards provided. If you are requesting prayer for someone else, please have their permission to do so before posting, only use their first name, and keep private details generalized in nature.
Wesley's Shawl Ministry extends the compassion of the congregation to our own members as well as to persons beyond our community of faith.
Shawls are often given to persons who have been seriously ill, have lost a loved one, or any person in need of a little TLC. Please stop by the office during weekday hours (9a-12 & 1p-4p) if you need to get a shawl for someone.
Shawls are always needed and welcome! You an find shawl instructions HERE or in the church office.
If you know of someone who would benefit from the gift of a prayer shawl or would like more information about this ministry, please contact the church office at 217.345.3917.
