Small Group Ministry

Wesley offers a variety of support, service, and study groups, which help participants grow in their love for God and one another. Small group leaders receive ongoing support from our Director of Small Group Ministries, and are encouraged to attend workshops on listening and caregiving skills.

Support Groups include those for families with challenges and those caregivers caring for family members. New support groups can be formed at any time by those with a desire to join with others around a common concern.

Study Groups may be either long or short term.  Groups such as the Men's Breakfast Group and Women's Study Group meet on an ongoing basis, while those focused on the study of issues such as world hunger and poverty may meet for several weeks. Groups focused on spiritual growth through the study of such topics as prayer, faith sharing, and forgiveness have also met on a short-term basis.  Short term study groups on various topics are formed several times each year. Watch the Sunday worship bulletin and our newsletter for news of upcoming studies. (There is a link to our newsletter on this site.)

Service Groups include our Shawl & Basket Ministries and the Wesley Quilters.

For more information about our existing groups, or if you are interested in starting or in being part of a new group, contact Donna Hudson, the Director of Small Group Ministries, in the church office at 345-3917 or by e-mailing her at donnah@charlestonwesley.org.
