coming up at Wesley
CHRISTMAS CANTATA TODAY! 8:30 and 10:45
LONGEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR SERVICE
December 21st is the winter solstice, marking the shortest day and longest night of the year. On this night, we gather for worship to remember those who are not with us for the holidays, to acknowledge the ways we may not feel like celebrating this time of year, and to seek healing and wholeness from God. Our service will be at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel, led by Rev. Betzy Elifrits Warren, Director of the Wesley Foundation. There will be a time of remembrance and a time of anointing with oil and prayer, for those who want anointing. This quiet and meditative service offers a time to get away from the noise and busyness and connect with God in a different way.
DISCIPLE FAST TRACK: LUKE/ACTS BEGINS JANUARY 10
A new session of Disciple Fast Track – Into the Word, Into the World will begin on Wednesday, January 10. This 12-week in-depth study takes place from 5:60 – 6:45 in the parlor each Wednesday evening and is led by Rev. Swickard. Books may be ordered through the church for $15 each. A sign-up sheet is available at the Information Center. Please note: so that books will arrive on time for the first session, the sign-up deadline is Friday, December 29.
WALKING IN THE CHURCH BUILDING
Now that the weather is chillier, we would like to remind you that you are free to walk the halls at Wesley Church Monday – Friday when the building is open. The northwest (Early Learning Center) door opens around 6:00 AM. and remains open until approximately 6:00 p.m. The west entrance is open from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Stay fit this winter by walking at Wesley!
