Disciple Bible study

Beginning in September 2024, Pastor Brad plans to offer multiple Bible Study opportunities.

The Gospel of Mark: “Say to This Mountain!” is for anyone interested in diving deep into the Gospel of Mark. Interested in the first recorded Gospel, join us as we explore Mark’s strong overtones of faith and politics in the first-century Roman Empire. The Gospel of Mark study will run 6 weeks in the Fall (October 9-November 13) and six weeks during Lent (February 26 – April 16).  The class will be offered on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM and Thursdays at 9 AM.

Disciple 2: “Into the Word, Into the World” is for those who participated previously in Disciple Bible Study 1. Disciple 2 will look in-depth at Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts. Our 26-week journey will run from September through April with class on Mondays at 5:30 PM.

Disciple 1: “Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study” is for those who have yet to participate in a Disciple Bible Study. Using both material produced by Disciple as well as material from other sources, we will survey the Bible and grow in our Christian faith and life.  This will be a 26-week journey (September through April). Pastor Brad will set the day and time of this class based on interest.

Childcare will be arranged if you need it.  If you have questions or would like to sign up for one of the classes, please contact Pastor Brad (bshumaker@charlestonwesley.org or 217-649-0339).  We really need a minimum of 10 people in each class to make the class work!  Let’s journey together!
